IWU baseball scores 41 runs in pair of wins

Indiana Wesleyan University baseball plated 20 or more runs in both games played on Tuesday vs. Brescia (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.). They Wildcats scored multiple runs in 8-of-15 innings and smacked 11 extra base hits in the wins. Both games were played at Lindsey Wilson.

In game one, Indiana Wesleyan def. Brescia, 21-3 before beating the host, 20-4 in the second game.

Indiana Wesleyan scored eight runs in the third inning against Brescia taking a 10-3 lead. The Wildcats added five more runs in the fifth and six in the sixth.

Caleb Eder was 3 for 5 with a pair of home runs, a triple, four runs scored and seven RBI for IWU.

Cameron Harvey allowed six hits and three runs through three innnings to earn the win.

The Wildcats led 3-0 after two innings and pulled away in the with six runs in the fifth and two more in the sxith inning for a 11-2 lead. A nine run eighth inning led to the mercy rule victory.

All nine Wildcat starters earned a hit and reached base at least two times. IWU outhit LWC 17-9.

Eder pitched 6.1 innings allowing seven hits and a pair of runs to earn the win. He was also 2for 5 with a double, run scored and RBI.

Jordan Wharton went 4 for 6 with a homer, three runs scored and six driven in.

Indiana Wesleyan is scheduled to host Viterbo (Wis.) at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Middle school wrestling

Oak Hill 76, McCulloch 52 

Varsity winners for McCulloch were: Andrew Asher, Conner Kissell, David Cannon, Thomas Mayberry, Nic Elliott, Aden Fisher, Caleb Watkins, Julian Gilbert, Tyler Gargus.

Exhibition matches were won by Nic Elliott, Jeremy Johnson, Marques Smith, Aden Fisher, and Malkolm McCreary
